From Oakland to Cali, Again!

You're warmly invited to follow this second visit to Colombia, supported in part by California College of Art, through the Center for Art & Public Life and Diversity Studies.

Departing July 4, 2010 with "info-stops" in Bogota and Manizales before settling into eco-projects in the environs of Cali. We will continue work at Nashira, the growing eco-village for single Moms and their children. Veronica Wiman, independent curator from Stockholm, is our dauntless Project Director for the social space. Veronica is also launching "Terra Escola", an arts and environment practice in various "urbs" throughout Colombia during 2011 and I expect to assist in the planning and facilitation during 2011.

I will be hosted once again by the much-loved "Lugar a Dudas", artist residency in Cali.

Stay tuned for lots of pictures! One of my sub-goals is to help reframe the gringo perception of Colombia.
They recently got closer to electing a creative and Green President!

A few key words: Centro Gaviotas, Project Zeri, Mamlulu, Guadua, ASOMUCAF, Partido Verde
